Remote Monitoring
Remote Monitoring
is the capability to monitor parameters
on a remote site from a central, alternative remote site
or even from a
mobile device.
As all of our solutions are IP based this allow the capability to
break out of the LAN (Local Area Network) and into a
WAN (Wide Area
Network) or even on to the Internet. In any case digital security is
often a concern and this can be
instigated using many options, some of
which include VPN (Virtual Private Networks), Encryption (3DES, AES,
etc.),
HTTPS links (Secure certificate authentication) or Secure tokens
with changing codes.
Once connectivity is provided remotely the only parameter that would
need to be calculated is the bandwidth
required for the application or
alerting profile. If the requirement is for several video feeds
bandwidth could be
reduced by throttling the refresh rate (Frames per
Second) or the Resolution of the displayed image. In the instance
of
utilising WAN links for an alerting process we would recommend having
multiple routes or even multiple paths
i.e. ADSL and Dial up or Fixed
Lines and 3G.
