The dramatic increase of data transfer demand over cellular and Wi-Max networks has recently placed pressure over carriers to increase both the density of Cellular and Wi-Max towers, and the backhauling throughput. At the same time, carriers are constantly under pressure to reduce the cost of backhauling in order to improve profitability.
Traditional point-to-point microwave technology tends to be a very expensive solution for cellular and Wi-Max backhauling, particularly with a high tower density. Metropolitan areas, although highly profitable for carriers due to the high density of users, are very challenging for point-to-point microwave solutions due to the lack of line-of-sight in urban areas.
Fluidmesh has developed an advanced, license-free, carrier-grade product line that solves the majority of the issues faced by cellular and Wi-Max carriers in backhauling applications. Fluidmesh’s solution includes mesh-enabled devices that allow carriers to plan complex multi-hop networks with embedded path redundancy to deal with link failures or interferences. Fluidmesh is also the only license-free wireless backhauling vendor with a dual-radio point-to-point solution capable of creating self-healing carrier-grade links using two license-free channels at the same time.
